Opportunity to join business school teams on projects for LIDS partner SPBD!
South Pacific Business Development (SPBD, http://www.spbdmicrofinance.com), a network of microfinance institutions, is having teams of business school students complete 2 projects for them this semester: Developing a Remittance/Money Transfer Service for Samoa and Setting Up a CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) in American Samoa. They are interested in having 1-2 HLS students join each of these teams to handle the legal research and analysis of each project. Any law students that take this on would be supervised by a licensed attorney and may be eligible to earn HLS pro bono credit for their time. Note that this is not an official LIDS project and the work would be done remotely since the business school teams are not located in Boston. This is a great opportunity to contribute your legal skills to projects that wouldn’t otherwise incorporate this perspective into their work! If you are interested, please contact Sarah Weiner (sweiner@jd15.law.harvard.edu) for more information.
