The Feinstein International Center cordially invites you to a brown bag seminar, “Gender-based Violence and Public Health: International Perspectives on Budgets and Policies” by Dr. Keerty Nakray of the Jindal Global Law School, India and Practitioner Expert at the Feinstein International Center.
A public health approach to gender-based violence is based on explicit recognition of health consequences of violence to women and enormous economic cost to the society. It also recognizes the vital role that health and social care professionals play in the early recognition of violence and initiating interventions. However, the approach is less understood and requires serious consideration from policy-makers in developing economies where public health systems are still evolving to respond effectively to gender based violence.
