- WHAT: The Williston
Competition is HLS’s annual simulated negotiation competition for 1Ls hosted by the Harvard Negotiators and the Board of Student Advisors. Williston gives participants the opportunity to engage in a complex contract negotiation and contract drafting competition. Student teams are assigned to negotiate a variety of issues with each other. - WHY: Experience (practice negotiation skills used frequently by lawyers), Prizes (cash prize, plaque in Langdell Library, Wikipedia entry).
- WHEN: Intro Meeting (2/10), Registration (
2/10-2/17), Competition (3/3- 3/10; 10-20 hours on your own time). - WHO: All 1Ls can participate! You can sign up with a partner or as an individual to be partnered up with another student. No experience necessary.
